Day 27 is there nursing in your family
I come from a large family but nursing definitely does not feature highly. I did not know any relatives who were nursing or doctors, and healthcare was not an area I ever thought of as a career.
Now though I have two cousins who are nurses, one who has been a children's nurse a lot longer than I've been nurse and another who went into mental health nursing.
I wish I could say I came from a long line of nurses, my great nan was in the crimes wiping generous brows, my nan was in the first world war patching up bullet wounds, but they didn't.
I found my way into nursing all on my own.
